State-of-the-art Cooling Technology: Direct Liquid Cooling

Efficient cooling for modern GPU and AI servers: Direct Liquid Cooling combined with environmentally friendly lake water technology in the Stollen Luzern Data Center.

Forward-looking Liquid Cooling

With the increasing energy density of modern servers – especially in high-performance GPU systems for AI applications – conventional air cooling is increasingly reaching its limits. Liquid cooling, specifically Direct Liquid Cooling, offers a forward-looking alternative.

Efficient Heat Dissipation Thanks to Direct Liquid Cooling

In Direct Liquid Cooling, processors and graphics cards are cooled directly with liquid. This allows heat to be dissipated much faster and more efficiently. The result: more stable temperatures, higher performance, and significantly lower energy consumption during operation.

Sustainable Cooling with Lake Water in the Stollen Data Center

In the Stollen Luzern Data Center by ewl, we additionally rely on our environmentally friendly lake water cooling. Cold water from Lake Lucerne is used to cool the servers energy-efficiently – without conventional refrigeration machines.

Another advantage: The resulting waste heat is not wasted but fed into the local heating network. This conserves resources and improves the overall ecological balance of the data center.
