Frequently Asked Questions about our Offers

Here you will find answers to your questions about our offers and services.

Colocation Racks

What does a colocation rack cost?

The prices depend on rack size, power consumption, and additional services. For example, you can get a 1/3 rack starting at CHF 360.00 per month. We would be happy to create a customized offer for you.

Can I expand my colocation rack at any time?

Yes, our infrastructure is scalable, from a single rack to a private suite. It is possible to reserve racks.

Are the data in the data center really secure?

We rely on the most advanced physical, technical, and organizational security measures, certified according to TÜViT «Level 3 extended» and ISO27001.

How sustainable is the data center?

We use lake water cooling from Lake Lucerne and feed waste heat into the local heating network – for maximum energy efficiency. Only electricity from renewable sources is used.

Are there personal contacts?

Of course, with us you receive individual support from our local team in Lucerne.

General

What distinguishes Colocation from Cloud Computing?

Colocation and Cloud Computing are two different approaches to hosting IT infrastructure. Both Colocation and Cloud Computing are characterized by flexibility in offering, easy adaptation to changing needs, as well as professionalization and cost reduction through outsourcing. The main difference is that with Colocation, you still own the hardware, whereas with Cloud Computing, only the computing power and storage space are rented. Colocation is therefore ideal for companies that want to retain full control over their data and hardware, while Cloud Computing is ideal for companies that want to be maximally flexible and no longer want to worry about the hardware.

Why is physical security so important in protecting data?

Physical security in data centers should be a top priority when it comes to protecting sensitive data. Traditional server rooms, as often found in SMEs, no longer meet modern security standards. State-of-the-art data centers counteract this. Measures such as the division into security zones, modern access and monitoring systems, early detection measurement, and resilient facilities are the foundations for data security, whether colocation or cloud.

What is meant by modular space management?

Modular space management refers to a flexible and scalable design of the data center space. This allows the space and infrastructure to be adjusted and expanded as needed. Additional modules and capacities can be individually integrated without major renovations or downtime. This way, your hardware, whether standard rack, private cage, or private suite, can be optimally adapted to your needs.
